ON THE SET OF "BRING IT ON 5"

Ben had the opportunity of shadowing Billie Woodruff
who is an Phenominial Dircctor for "BRNG IT ON 5".
He learned alot from sitting side by side this director during

the taping of the movie. He also had a chance to speak with
some of the actors, like; Christina Milian,
Gabrielle Dennis & Vanessa Born.

2009 Festival Update
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
16 year old, Hollywood Filmmaker, Ben Lee Foster kicks off his first film festival for youth. Ben came up with this new concept to do a film festival that allows youth under the age of 18 an opportunity to try their hands at making fun and inspiring short movies, PSA's and music videos.

"Enough Is Enough". Youth are faced with is alot of movies, music videos, and some television shows that send out negative messages. A change needs to be made. More inspiring projects need to be created to help the young generation and generations to come, how to make better decisions in life so we can have a more healthier future.

The festival is open to youth age 8 to 17 that are creative and are willing to challenge themselves to send out positive messages through projects. Ben is looking to showcase projects that help resolve peer pressure issues, make life more positive and of course make people laugh. It's always good to laugh, but not degrade others.

The BLF Film Festival will be held in Wilmington, Delaware on Thursday, March 26, 2009. All submissions are due by February 26, 2009. For information on how to participate in the festival, visit the film site; www.blffilmfestival.blogspot.com

PAN AFRICAN FILM FESTIVAL

Ben had the opportuity to screen his short film, "Surviving Brotherhood" in the Pan African film festival on February 7, 2009. He was invited to be a guest on the panel as a teen filmmaker to discuss issues that affect and portrayal in media. He sat amongst other inspiring teen filmmakers, that also had great films that were presented.

The teen filmmakers segment was presented by Amarpal Khanna, who created the visual arts and media department at ICEF Public Schools in Los Angeles.

Ben was honored to have been apart of this festival where he could share insight about the film industry with his film peers and future colleagues.

Ben Lee Foster makes his appearance on the "Montel Williams" show as an young Entrepreneur. He speaks about how he got started in business as a young filmmaker. He also discusses about his new book and other upcoming projects.

It was a great experience being on the Montel Williams show. It all began when we received a phone call. I knew then it was a blessing from God. When we got the call, I knew this was going be a chance for my career to take off and others would start taking me more seriously. The producer had prepared us for the day of the taping by giving us instructions of sending pictures, my bio, copies of my movies and etc.
On our scheduled day to leave, I packed my things, headed for the airport and arrived in New York where there was a car waiting to take my parents and I to our hotel. The next morning, someone picked us up and rushed us to the studio. When we arrived, we were greeted by the staff. Everyone seemed excited to meet me. It was a pleasure to meet them as well. First into makeup, then into wardrobe, going over interview questions, and meeting the other Amazing guest, all was a great experience. When it was my turn to go on stage, I was kind of nervous, but excited. Once I sat down and began to speak with Mr. Montel, I felt a little more relaxed. He greeted me with a warm welcome. I wasn’t quite sure what he was going to ask me, but I was prepared. I was able to share with the world at that moment, how I began my film business and shared my new book. While, on the show, Mr. Montel surprised me with a scholarship to attend a film program at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, California. Also, I was surprised with a chance to meet with Mr. Reggie Hudlin from BET. I feel as though that I have received such great gifts that would help to enhance my career.

Ever since the show, I have had a lot of positive responses and opportunities. It was a great experience I would always remember.

Enhancing My Film Skills At The NYFA

My experience with attending the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles was really great. I learned a whole lot about film that would help to build up my skills. I’ve learned how to work film cameras under the training of my awesome instructor, Kevin Burstein. Oh can’t forget to mention the great Justin Lerner who was my Directing teacher. Justin would work us till the point where we had no choice but to be the best, and I applaud him for that. The film Academy has given me an ultimate experience of my life. The Directing teacher along with other NYFA staff has made me a much better Director. I am looking forward to attending the film program again next year.

BET...A Life Shaken Experience!!!

This is a day that will go down in history. I will never forget the day that I went to BET for my meeting with Mr. Reginald Hudlin. It was a life shaken experience. As I sat patiently in the lobby anxiously waiting to meet with Mr. Hudlin, I experienced something I never experienced before. The building began to sway from side to side and the chadleliers swung back and forth. I looked around the room and on every face there was an expression that said, what is going on. IT WAS AN EARTHQUAKE. I held onto my chair until it was over. Everyone came running out of their offices in shock. They mentioned that it's been years since they last had an earthquake. Thank God the building was built to handle situations like this. I don't know what I thought at the time, but I don't want to experience anything bigger or worst.

After all the shock was over, I completed my meeting with Mr. Hudlin and now being mentored by him. Being that he is the President of BET programming and has directed several films, I know I'll learn alot from him.

I was also blessed with the opportunity to be the first youngest intern on board. This is a history in making.

American Black Film Festival

Wow!!! What a great experience to have been apart of this event. It was a pleasure to have had my film, "CASTING CALL" screened in the festival this year. It showed me that I was on the right track. To be featured as the youngest filmmaker and meet with other amazing filmmakers was a honor.

I also had a chance to participate in the young filmmakers workshop that allowed us to learn about the film industry.

I want to give Mr. Friday and his Staff a Special Thanks for the opportunity. I am definately looking forward to next year.

Ben Foster Films, LLC creates inspirational and educational projects to help youth with better decisions making. Being a youth, I see situations that my peers go through and I try to create projects to allow them to see themselves in situations and try to give advice to make a positive decision.

Since the age of 9, I have been creating short films to help young people with better decision making in life and following their dreams. I am trying to help youth in urban communities nationwide, and would like to reach them to help with making better decisions in life. Many youth struggle with peer pressure, but about 60 out of 100 choose to make bad decisions by choosing drugs, guns, alcohol, stealing, etc.

Presently, I am sharing my projects with youth at schools, youth centers, churches, conventions & other places. I speak to youth at these places to give advice about making better decisions in life and following your dreams. I write & direct projects that does not have cursing, the use of the "N" word, or degrading others. Recently, I had my first educational book publised. Is is titled "Kid Patrol", which is It is also used as a tool to reach youth and to help educate them.
